Feline Medicine

We treat a wide variety of complex feline medical conditions in a cat friendly environment

Our Feline Medicine service is geared up to manage a wide variety of complex feline medical conditions with an emphasis on ensuring this is done within a cat-friendly environment. We enjoy access to state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging equipment (including CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, digital radiography and ultrasonography) and have a well-equipped endoscopy suite which, with cats in mind, includes a selection of small-diameter scopes facilitating rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy and gastrointestinal endoscopy in animals weighing less than 5kg.

We also benefit from an on-site laboratory and where necessary, work closely with other disciplines providing additional feline services such as cardiology, dermatology and oncology. Importantly, the hospital holds the highest level (gold award) of ISFM cat friendly clinic accreditation and boasts a cat-only waiting area, feline consulting room, feline hospitalisation ward and dedicated feline procedures room as well as a plethora of additional cat friendly equipment.

Why Refer To Our Feline Medicine Service?

Feline patients pose a unique set of problems when it comes to veterinary care, and having a dedicated feline service brings multiple benefits.

Our highly trained team of clinicians and support staff are able to diagnose, treat and care for cats with a deep understanding of their distinctive disease conditions, environmental requirements and psychological needs. Our large purpose-built facilities enable physical separation of feline patients from dogs and ensure that visual contact between cats is avoided.

A calm, quiet environment is maintained at all times, and our dedicated ward nurses spend time getting to know each patient, ensuring that their individual needs are met.

Our state-of-the-art facilities enable a thorough and appropriate work-up of even the most complicated of feline cases, and our multi-disciplinary support services mean that patients with multiple needs can be cared for in a holistic manner. We strive to ensure that all our feline patients enjoy the compassionate and high-quality care that they deserve.

We are a gold-level cat friendly practice. The ISFM Cat Friendly Scheme means that accredited clinics have a higher standard of cat care and have demonstrated they have the team and equipment to take the best care of your cats.
