Sara graduated from the Veterinary Faculty at the University of Lisbon in 2011. She went on to complete a residency at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, before specialising in Exotic Pets and Zoological Medicine & Surgery.

She worked as a specialist at Kansas State University before joining the team at Pride Veterinary Centre in 2019.

Her areas of clinical interest lie in exotic pet surgery and dentistry.

Sara belongs to the examination committee of the ECZM-Small Mammal, as well as being accredited by the Federation of European Laboratory Animals Science Associations (FELASA) as a Scientific Reseacher (A+B+C+D).

In her free time, Sara enjoys doing dog agility with her crazy border collie Pixie and riding horses.
