Referred Pets

If your pet has been referred to us, we aim to give you the very best outcome for your pet.

We work closely with your own vet to provide a seamless referral process that is least disruptive to both you and your pet.

We offer a wide range of services for pets that have been referred to us and you can rest assured that we will take great care of both you and your pet.

What’s more our hospital facilities are second to none, we have highly qualified and experienced staff, state-of-the-art equipment and modern facilities.

We have ample parking, and should you wish to remain in Derby during your pet’s stay with us there is plenty of accommodation.

What Happens When Your Pet Is Referred?

We aim to make the referral process as hassle free as possible for you. You can contact us at any time whilst your pet is with us by calling 01332 548911 (this number is manned 24/7). As well as having a clinician as your main point of contact, your beloved pet will be looked after by our nursing team who will keep you updated throughout their stay.

What To Expect The You Arrive At Pride Veterinary Centre

We have a separate waiting area for referred patients. Turn left when you enter the building where our friendly referral team will be waiting to greet you.

Many patients are surgical cases and will require hospitalisation. We understand that this can be a very worrying time, so we have compiled some information for pets that have been hospitalised.

Be Prepared For Your Visit

In many cases we may need to hospitalise your pet overnight to allow for investigations and procedures to be conducted over consecutive days or to allow recovery from any sedation or anaesthetic given.

Before your appointment, please do not give your pet any food after midnight on the morning of their appointment (water is fine). This allows us to start with any investigations such as blood tests or sedation as soon as your pet is admitted.

If your pet is insured, we can consider a direct claim withy our insurance company, but these need to be authorised in advance by our dedicated insurance team.
