CPD | Acute Perioperative Pain Management: Opioids In Practice
16 October 2017
Thursday 23rd November at Pride Veterinary Centre
Registration from 7.00pm
Book your place on our next CPD evening for vets on Thursday 23rd November, presented by Ian Self from our Anaesthesia & Pain Management team.
This is a free CPD evening and a light meal will be provided from 7.00pm. The presentation will start at 7.30pm.
What Will The Seminar Involve?
This session will aim to give attendees a thorough understanding of the use of opioids in acute surgical pain management.
We will begin by examining the agents available together with their advantages and disadvantages. We will then consider how they may be used alongside other non-opioid agents to provide optimal analgesia for both routine and involved cases as part of a balanced anaesthetic approach.
We will illustrate pain management by considering real cases which have been presented to the practice and try to show the decision making process as it applies to analgesia planning.
Delegates are encouraged to bring their own cases along for discussion within the group.
This event will be sponsored by Dechra Veterinary Products.
We will also be offering tours of the hospital from 7.10pm.
