Mark EvansReferrals Director

Mark oversees the referrals hospital at Pride Veterinary Referrals, who form part of the wider IVC referrals division. He supports the team on strategic and operational management and on business development.

Alice CabornReferral Operations Manager

Alice supports the day-to-day delivery of the strategy for referrals, with a particular focus on referring vet engagement and overall service levels, ensuring we provide the most professional and caring service possible.

Jane HeeleyReferrals Operation Manager

Jane works alongside Alice as Referrals Operation Manager. She supports our clinicians, nurses, and support teams in their day-to-day management of the patient journey.

Tara Colella, Hospital Nursing Manager

Tara works alongside Michelle, to support and develop the team of nurses and support staff to ensure all patients receive gold standard care. Tara also works within the referral operations team to support with the daily running of the hospital.

Michelle Staniforth- Trengove, Hospital Nursing Manager

Michelle works alongside Tara, in the referral operations team ensuring the hospital runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. Michelle's primary focus is to support the nursing team and the development of our student nurses to ensure we deliver high quality care and compassion to all our patients.

The clinical teams are supported by fully qualified and experienced veterinary nurses. Many of our nurses have taken advanced training and often undertaken additional qualifications in their area of work. Our nurses work not only within a particular discipline, but we also have a team of rotating nurses.

Our team of veterinary nurses have a wealth of experience. They are also fundamental in the day-to-day running of the hospital. The care and support provided by the nursing team is exceptional, so too is their ability to deliver complex care to those patients in need.

The anaesthesia and analgesia team at Pride Veterinary Referrals are responsible for the sedation, anaesthesia and recovery of all patients admitted to the hospital. They are present at every procedure and ensure that patient post-operative pain is managed correctly whilst in the hospital. The team are involved with all services at Pride Veterinary Referrals, from major surgeries to sedation for medical investigations and diagnostic imaging.

They wear orange in the hospital so that should there be a patient emergency, they can be clearly seen amongst the staff, and their office is based next to the main prep area so that they can oversee everything.

At Pride Veterinary Referrals, our imaging team consists of not only diagnostic imagers, who interpret the images that are taken on the machines, but also a team of radiographers that use the machines to take the images. These are all qualified radiographers, having completed a degree and worked within a human hospital before choosing to move into the veterinary industry.

Diagnostic imagers often have to find minuit details within images, often working alongside colleagues from other services in order to make the correct diagnosis. The team are located within a quiet office away from the hospital. This carries great benefit, as it provides the team with a quiet environment for concentration.

The exotics team, led by Sara Dias DVM MSc DipABVP-ECM DipECZM-SM MRCVS American Specialist in Exotic Companion Mammals and European Specialist in Zoological Medicine, work alongside several services to ensure that exotics pets receive the best surgical and medical care.

Supported by a dedicated team of clinicians and nurses, Sara can see all kinds of pets that are classed as ‘exotic’. This also include rabbits, in which there are particular conditions that require specialist care.

Sara is the only double Diplomate working within the UK (with both American and European specialist credentials). She has also recently gained Gold ‘Rabbit Friendly Practice’ status, meaning that Pride Veterinary Referrals is one of only around 20 hospitals with this accreditation in the UK.

Feline Medicine

The veterinary nurse team comprises of several nurses that have undertaken training in feline care, with the service being overseen by Charlotte Dye BVM&S PhD DSAM(feline) DipECVIM-CA MRCVS, European Specialist in Veterinary Internal Medicine and RCVS Specialist in Feline Medicine.

Charlotte has a Diploma in Feline Medicine and has ensured that all of our cat facilities are suitable for cats, aiming to reduce stress experienced by cats and help keep cats calm. Charlotte was instrumental in obtaining Gold Cat Friendly Clinic status for Pride Veterinary Referrals.

The internal medicine team look after most non-surgery patients.

With state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, paired with an abundance of expertise, the team can diagnose and manage complex conditions using ultrasound and endoscopes.

The internal medicine team is comprised of internationally recognised specialists in canine and feline internal medicine as well as residents, interns and dedicated veterinary nurses who have learnt and developed the specific skills required to manage complex cases.

The team will often see pets with long-term medical conditions and get the chance to build a good relationship with you should your pet be seen regularly.

The neurology team care for all patients with spinal and brain related conditions and injuries. They deal with both medically managed and surgical patients, and we have an on-site rehabilitation team to help with ongoing recovery.

The surgery team see all types of surgical cases; orthopaedic, soft tissue (organs or wounds), and spinal. As well as offering traditional surgery, they also offer some minimally invasive procedures (keyhole surgery) supported by a team of surgical and theatre nurses who aid with surgery, and support patients during recovery.
