Julie graduated from Glasgow Veterinary School in 1987, and has worked in small animal practice since then. She spent 10 years mainly in private practice in London, and obtained the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Radiology in 1996.
In 2000 Julie joined the Scarsdale Veterinary Group, where she furthered her interest in ultrasound and cardiology, passing the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Cardiology in 2008. Julie became an Associate Partner in 2011.
Julie’s areas of clinical interest are in abdominal ultrasound, radiology, all aspects of veterinary cardiology and cardiorespiratory medicine, particularly investigating congenital heart disease as well as the challenges in managing chronic congestive heart failure cases. She is based at Pride Veterinary Centre, seeing both internal and externally referred cases, and is happy to be contacted to discuss both management and referral of cardiac cases.
Julie can also be seen regularly presenting at our CPD and Clinical Club events at Pride Veterinary Centre.
Outside of work, Julie enjoys being outdoors - walking in the Peak District and Scotland with her dog Milly, as well as spending time at home gardening and with her cats Alvin and Eva.
