We prescribe relevant veterinary medicinal products following a clinical assessment of an animal under our care. A prescription can be provided on request given one working days notice, however this may not be appropriate if your animal is an in-patient or immediate treatment is necessary. You will be informed, on request of the price of any medicine that may be prescribed for your animal.
In line with RCVS guidelines regarding the dispensing of veterinary medications, it is practice policy for all pets to be seen by a veterinary surgeon every 3 months.
Exceptions are made for wormers and flea products where the period since the last examination is extended to 12 months.
The check-ups will allow a vet to review your pet’s condition, discuss any new medications which may be more appropriate for your pet and to check for any problems related to long term treatment. It also provides an opportunity for you to discuss any other concerns you may have regarding your pet’s health.
If your pet has not been seen by a vet within the last 3 months please make an appointment before requesting a further supply of medications. Please give us 24 hours notice when requesting repeat prescriptions.
