Is Your Pet Having Surgery?
Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation of your animal following orthopaedic or neurological surgery is critical to maximising success. It is also beneficial in elderly patients starting to develop joint disease in their old age and following a soft tissue injury.
We have a combined physiotherapy and hydrotherapy suite to provide all you need to enable your animal to make a full recovery. Our qualified veterinary physiotherapist (Beth Roberts) is trained in both disciplines and able to work with you on a treatment plan for your pet.
We have a large heated hydrotherapy pool, with a sloping ramp to aid entry in and out of the pool, where your animal can swim supported and with assistance and will be accompanied in the water by Beth and her team. We also have a water treadmill for cases where this is a more appropriate treatment and these are both used for either physiotherapy within the water and maintenance or development of muscle mass and fitness.
The physiotherapy suite is well equipped with exercise balls and we combine these with hands on massage and manipulation to get the most out of your pet.
We use this facility for our own patients, but are also happy to see you as a referral from your own veterinary surgeon. We can provide these services during the day and in the evenings and weekends so please contact us if you require any more information.
